This product is super potent....so make sure you only apply a small amount, and to the root area only! It does give body and lift to my roots, however I must a gree with the other review I read in regards to the blondish color being quite dark. I have medium blonde hair, and it does make it look like my roots need to be done when useing this prodouct. Bumble and Bumble need to lighten up the color since it is for blondes.....we don't want to look light to medium brown at our roots! The effects of this product are good, but just be careful to only apply a small amount
I use this product to cover my gray hair while I am growing it out. However, I wasn't about to go to work with two-toned hair. My colored hair is a darker blonde so when I spray this powder on the gray hair it blends extremely well with the colored hair and no one has noticed despite having about 3 inches of gray to around 5 inches of color. To use it, I wash and dry my hair. I tie a hankerchief over the bottom half of my face so I don't breathe the fumes. You do need to let the powder dry before brushing and then brush it in well so it blends with the rest of your hair. You don't have to use a lot; the larger can lasts about six to eight weeks. I can now go about 3 days between washings (washes out easily for me) and it does thicken my hair as well. It will rub off on pillow cases so I bought a dark pillow case. This is a temporary hair color that is a bit of a hassle but works very well for my purpose.
I have medium to light blonde highlighted hair, depending on the time of year. My natural hair color is medium brown. I spray this on my SCALP, let it dry and then barely brush into the surrounding hair. Not only does it hide my balding spot, it thickens the surrounding hair. The price is a killer, though.
I bought this product because I have long hair and washing it everyday was drying the ends out. I just needed something to take care of the oil at my roots in between washings. I was completely disappointed! First of all, if you are not a VERY DARK blonde, the color of this product won't work for you! It made me look as if I had roots that needed to be touched-up. Secondly, it is a sticky, gross mess that gets on your hands and brush, color and all (It does dry after a few minutes on your hair). It'll even get on your clothes and possibly your sheets if you sleep with it in your hair. Furthermore, the smell is unpleasant (like a nasty hairspray - chemical odor) and when you do shower, you'll get reminded of the usage of this product as you see the color wash down the drain. You'll need two shampooings to get it all out! If you want a cheap solution for light blonde hair, try straight cornstarch. Shake it on your roots, then scrub and shake it out. Brush and style and you're good to go.
